Director of National Institute of Drug Abuse Says Prevention Can Work

During remarks given at the U.S. Senate Addiction Forum:
Understanding the Science and Addressing Collateral Consequences, held on Dec. 2, 2014, at the Russell Senate Office Building, Dr. Nora Volkow, Director, National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA) made the following statement.

“Increased perception of risk reduces drug use in youth.”

This is important because our The Truth About Drugs education and prevention program is aimed at exactly this goal–increasing perception of the risk of drugs.
